Your tour will begin with a short visit at the Panathenaic Stadium. A marvellous stadium made of white marble and the place where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. You will be escorted by our expert guides who will be there to provide you with all important information. Continuing our scheduled route, you will pass by the city's landmarks. The Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament, the monument of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma) are among the historically most important sightseeings.

Your next stop will be at the Athens Acropolis. On the citadel you will visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally the Parthenon of Acropolis. It was built by the architects Ictinus and Calicrates under the supervision of the famous sculptor Phidias. The structure embodies many architectural refinements. You will observe all these while enjoying the great view of the city of Athens from above.

You will continue downhill and visit the place where the statues finally found their home, the modern Acropolis Museum. There, you will admire the wonders of the classical era. Excavated statues, marble pieces from ancient structures and numerous artefacts are exhibited to the public eyes.

This is a perfect time, in our full-day tour of Athens Acropolis and Cape Sounion with lunch, to take a lunch break in a local restaurant and be introduced to the great local flavours.

After our break, we will drive along Attica's coastal road, pass by the wonderful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni & Varkiza so as to arrive at the Southeast part of the Attican peninsula, Cape Sounion. On the way, you shall face the splendid view of the Saronic Gulf and its numerous small islands offshore.

Upon arriving in Cape Sounio, you will walk up to the promontory. The white marble columns of the Temple of Poseidon, will welcome you as they have welcomed visitors for hundreds of years. After visiting the Temple of Poseidon, you will have time for a pleasant walk on the rocky promontory where, as the myth has it, Aegeas (a mythical King of Athens) ended his life tragically, passing his name with his action to the Aegean Sea.
