Our quest's starting and finishing base will be the Port of Lavrion. This will be a great opportunity, prior to your departure or upon your return, to avail yourself of everything this vibrant, cosmopolitan, historically rich city has to offer. Athens is one of the world’s oldest cities, dense with ancient monuments, chic cafés and unique shops. Always keep in mind that you walk in a constantly changing place which is in the making for thousands of years! Wander through Plaka's colourful alleys to the Athens Acropolis hill and the Acropolis' Museum, one of the world’s greatest and most modern museums.
The regal Olympia will be your cosy floating hotel and Mykonos will be our first stop, an island of great beauty which will make you feel as if you’ve fallen into a dream. Stroll the picturesque alleys of Mykonos Town (Hora) and, after the sun drops into the deep blue sea, enjoy its exhilarating nightlife.
From Mykonos we will sail overnight and our breakfast will be served in quiet Kusadasi, whose white sand beaches are not far from the excavations of the ancient city of Ephesus and its Terrace Houses (one of the world’s largest open-air museums), the House of the Virgin Mary, beautiful Sirince Village and the thrilling metropolis of Izmir. Kusadasi is also home to a fantastic harbourside bazaar where you will find some of the best bargains in the Aegean Sea.
We will arrive at the holy island of Patmos where, as many believe John the Apostle wrote the Book of Revelations in a mountainside grotto, where he heard God's voice. Walking uphill the mountain, within the white walls of Hora, there you will find the monastery that was founded in his honor in 1088.
We will leave Patmos and sail through another lovely Aegean evening to Heraklion, an ancient Venetian port and the fascinating capital of Crete. It is Greece’s largest island and a paradise of secluded beaches, hiking trails, rivers and archaeological marvels, including the Minoan Palaces of Knossos, the ruins of Festos and the Archaeological Museum in Heraklion. Whatever you do on this mythic island, you’ll fall in love with Crete. Before you leave, keep in mind to take with you a bottle of Cretan olive oil, the world’s finest.
Enjoy your delicious lunch on the pool deck or drink a traditional Greek coffee at Thalassa Bar, as the ship will sail through the Aegean's burning blue beneath you, from the port of Heraklion for an evening on majestic Santorini. You will see the island’s cliffs rising from the Aegean waters as if they were a mirage. You can take a jeep safari into the island's interior or a cruise to Santorini’s smaller islands and volcanoes, visit the Akrotiri Village's excavations or just relax in a café in spectacular Oia Village and watch the sunset while standing 300 meters above the azure sea.
It is impossible for one to visit the Aegean just once! The return to Lavrion will be your final stop of the Greek Islands 3-Day Cruise. This three days will be enough to kick-start a lifelong obsession, which we’ll be delighted to help you satisfy again and again...
